Not Much Else...

Well not much else recently. I went by Perky Pets last night in New West to check out some of the LR they have. I've been dyin' to get some more for my tank, and even thou the $$ wasn't there, the price was good (can't pass up a good bargain).

I picked up 12.5lbs, which brings my total to around 35lbs. I put it all in the 10g tank I have for now, and will wait till I move the tank. I may put a piece or two in the tank tonight however.

CLOWNFISH!

Well I found out that the place that is suppose to finish my stand, won't be able to till maybe the end of this upcoming week, OR possibly the week after. This sucks.

I wanted the stand done THIS week that just past, and it didn't get done. Why? I wanted my clownfish.

Well I couldn't wait. ;) So today I drove down to OA, met up with Jack, and picked up 2 small clownfish! Woot!

They are totally awesome, but have been pretty much chillin' in the back of the tank. I don't know if they are use to the flow in my tank, since the tank they were born in, didn't seem to have a ton of flow. I also ended up getting another 802 PH today as well, but I haven't turned it on, because the 2 PH flows are pretty nuts.

Temptation

Green MandarinOkay I'm bad. I couldn't wait. We'll I came close enough. I promised myself that I would wait till my tank was moved into the other room before getting a fish.

During the last few weeks, I've been visiting Fin-Omenal down the road. I probably dropped by once a week, to check out the stock. In one of the tanks, they had 2 awesome fish that I really wanted to get. A Green Mandarin and a Six Line Wrasse. Both were nice and small (what I want so I can watch them grow), and very cool looking. Anyhoo, so today I dropped by Fin-Omenal, and found out the Six Line Wrasse was sold... NO!

The Green Mandarin was still there however. I spent some time, chatting with the 2 fine ladies at the shop, and finally figured I'd grab the sucker, before I lost my chance! So I ended up buying the sweet little guy, and brought him home today. I acclimated him for about 1-1/2 - 2 hrs (dripfeed), before putting him in my tank. I was kinda scared because for the first 5-10 minutes, he really didn't move from where he landed in the tank. But he started to move around, and went right into the cave where the peppermint shrimp was.

The intereaction between both of them was very cool to watch. The GM was somewhat suprised by the shrimp, but soon allowed him to feel him up. They spent some time next to eachother in the cave.

I went down a few hours later, and noticed he's coasting around more often, and crusing around the rocks, checking out his new home. I hope he adapts well, he's really a cool fish.

(Btw, that picture is not of my fish).

Room

So the new room of the aquarium is coming together quite nicely. 2-3 weeks ago, we picked up some of the ikea bookshelf that is going to match the stand for the tank. Today I picked up some light grey paint, and gave the room a paint with the help of Natisha. It looks much better now that that light pink color is gone (god that was horrendous!).

Now hopefully Roy over at Cheyenne Millwork & Custom Cabinets (just 2 units away from us) can find some time this week to sheet up the frame I made for the stand.

I'm really looking forward to getting that done this week, because as it is, its almost been a month since I last took out the damsel from my tank (man time flies!). That means its fish time!! woot, after all this long wait (2-1/2 months!) I can finally get the fish I want!

The first fish, will be 2 Clownfish. The actual type, is Amphiprion Percula. I'll be getting them from Ocean Aquatics, down in Delta, where they actually breed the fish, very cool! But first I want to move the tank to the living room before I get the fish.
